Volunteer Families

Jud, Karen, Jacob and Zachary Wickwire are from Kelowna, British Columbia, they have been volunteering in Guyana, South America since September of 2007.  Jud is a pilot and has been bush flying in Northern British Columbia since the mid 80′s and also has an extensive construction background.  Karen is a Dental Hygienist and Jacob and Zack are eleven and twelve respectively.  They live in the village of Mabaruma in Region 1 and work as a team with the LaBore family,  LaBore Blog  and the VanFossen family.  The project that Wings for Humanity is establishing in Region 1 is intended to be permanent base with two airplanes, hanger, staff housing and related facilities.  The Team works in close cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Guyana Ministry of Health, Local Government and other aid agencies to improve access to medical care and treatment as well as support Christian outreach ministry particularly to the Amerindian population.

The Wickwire’s have committed to at least five years in Guyana and are excited to be a part of this work that God has prepared the way for.
